What is yoga, how was it born?
Yoga arose in India, and goes back to 500 years. The holy persons in yoga are called the Rishi. The Rishi are the people living in the Himalayas in reclusion who have expanses their energies by exercises and psychogenesis. Yoga has endured by the Rishis teaching their knowledge to their students. And the yogis, having gained all these experiences, have reached the yoga today. Yoga has settled on a very good system in its current shape. Entire purpose of this system of this system is purification. The purified persons reached for the knowledge. This is not something mystical. Everything is bare in the universe and, in fact, there is no mystery. Only, the person has to have an open heart to reach a suitable level.
Yoga is neither a religion nor sports. It is a complement of all activities performed to reach spiritual, physical and mental health, and high level of consciousness based on Universal Integrity (On Body) philosophy, and a life style. It allows the person to live in material, secular life, in balance between spiritual and physical self. Inner peace and physical health are gained.
What is to attain, how does a person become a Rishi?
First, you may begin with fasting. It is a very important fact for the person whether life quality is high and is healthy. Rishis live in the Himalayas for this reason. Because everywhere is clean in the Himalayas. They eat less food, they perform mental fasting. Mental fasting aims for removal of the ego. Feelings like egoism, jealousy and hatred are left aside. You get purified and reach a kind of attainment when you totally remove all these feelings. Yet, becoming a yogi is difficult. You can not think of any evil. Your egoism totally disappears.
Is purification the goal?
Yes, the secret is purification. When you get purified you become a light, you reach the knowledge. You understand what truth is. You can not give harm to anybody. You can not hurt any animal, plant, stone, soil, water. You understand that cosmos is you body. Cosmos is our body, and we are a cell of it. Once you understand this, is it possible for you to give harm to anything? You can not destroy a wall or cut down a tree to earn more money. Because they are parts of your body now. You will hurt yourself when you hurt them. Once you understand this reality, it is over. This is the coming of yoga. They have found out such important movements that these are of great importance for our health. Yoga activities have massage effect on lymphs and organs in the body. This massage effects activity of the lymphs and balances our hormone levels. Organs work without interruption, joints get relieved, muscles relax, and our body becomes healthier. All nerve system, digestive system, and the other systems in the body start working. In yoga, there are three bodies; physical, spiritual, and mental. These three bodies are integrated. They are separate but together. When one gets affected the other also gets affected. Therefore, yoga is not only physical or spiritual. In our breathing activities, we are expanding our energy body. This affects our biological structure. We are applying exercises which run all parts in our body. When all parts run, a perfect synthesis arises and perfect person comes to being. Yoga aims reaching the perfect person.
What is the purpose in yoga?
Yes, the purpose to become the perfect person, to find the perfect. Why are we in the world, what is the truth? IS the truth what we see around or are there other things beyond what we see? What is death, what is it not? Understanding these truths is within the philosophy of yoga. If the person well understands and internalizes yoga, which of course occurs within time, starts reaching this truth eventually. Happiness, and health increases when these exercises are performed. The person has a more optimistic vision of life. I call yoga, the key for life.
