YOGA CLEANSING CAMP
IN THE HIMALAYAS OF TÜRKİYE
YAASC SIDDASHRAM YOGA CENTER
ALANYA – İSTANBUL
A one- week yoga cleansing program is done in our ashram situated in the Taurus Mountains, (the Himalayas of Türkiye) 800 meters above sea level which is about 40 minutes drive from Alanya City. Its site, overlooking a river and the second largest Dam in Turkey plus far ahead on a clear day a view of the Mediterranean sea between two mountains completes a scenery of peace and tranquility. This ashram was founded with much effort by Yogibaba Adnan and his wife Madam Lourdes. The camp operates in the summer months from June to August.
During the one-week program, you will be introduced to the basic philosophy of yoga, parallel to the yoga ashram system of India. Contingency is for a maximum of 20 participants whereby everyone will be comfortable and live like a family. The program consists of activities that relate more to integrating oneself with nature and getting to know oneself. Various activities all day long include morning walks through the village roads, Hatha and or Dynamic Yoga in the mornings, Classic Spiritual Yoga in the Evenings, Karma yoga wherein everyone without exception is required to follow, Mauna Yoga where silence and nature is the main consideration, swimming in the clear water of the Dim Cay river (if weather and conditions allow), visit to the village, etc.
Since our main aim is too completely if not partially detoxify our physical, mental and spiritual bodies altogether, we offer vegetarian food, (sometimes lacto-ovo vegetarian), a lot of discipline and exercise. In our capacity we try to maintain a natural ambience, serve natural organic food, herbal teas etc.
In our yoga center, smoking and alcoholic drinks are not acceptable. Therefore it is neither served nor accepted to be brought in the camp by the guests. Loud noise, shouting and gossiping is forbidden. Couples that join the program do not share the same room.
We offer our thanks to the generosity of the universe and nature. Stay well with our wishes for a better environment and better health.

Moments of daily activities at Toros Mountains Yoga Camp | ||

I was a person who didn’t believe in yoga and i saw it as a commercial fad. Personally, I was a person who didn’t care about nutrition, have a heart problem, unfortunately had a heart attack at age 35. I had a cardiac by-pass surgery done 15 years ago and 5 of my veins were clogged and were replaced. However, I didn’t do many sports apart from tennis and the veins clogged again. My cholesterol (over 250) and blood pressure rose. At the beginning of 2003 my chest pains came back and the tests showed a blockage aorta valve. In mid-2003 I read a book by Dr. Mehmet Öz and saw that he was talking about yoga and decided to give it a try. I found Adnan Hoca by total coincidence. Since then I began yoga up to the present. By the way I had a double bypass and aorta valve change operations by Dr. Mehmet Öz. Currently, I am more into sports, yoga, and healthier nutrition and I feel better and am very happy to be doing so.
I began Yoga about 3 months ago and I’m able to do Yoga twice a week. Before I began, I suffered panic attacks. My reasons to come here were to reach mental and spiritual peace and hence put an end to my panic attacks. Starting from the first class the effects of Yoga were apparent. At least I knew I was more kind, calm and peaceful on my Yoga days. In this case, if I was able to do Yoga everyday my life would be more correct and pleasurable. The contributions of Mr. Çabuk and Lourdes are great. Your smiling face, serenity and tolerance influences me and the other students. Thank you for everything.
I began yoga 6 months ago, which later became the purpose of my life,. Within this short time frame of 6 months it created big changes in my life. In the first months I was exhilarated by the colors I see and the happiness I felt when I meditated. As I continued to practice YOGA, my body became more flexible and felt the happiness of getting to know my body and realize my life. The most important virtue I learned from yoga was patience. Patience is a hard one for all the beginners, I know. I also thought that everything would happen quickly. However as I learned to be patient and not ask for anything, I saw that I was rewarded. Right now my life’s purpose is yoga and I spent my every second with it. I’m sailing into a new love. With peace and serenity I am making my way to my happiness. It is not possible for me to explain what awareness and consciousness has changed in my life. All I can say is that there are no words for yoga, you have to experience it.
July 2004 at Siddashram
Twice a week.
My distress and fatigue decreased, my worries decreased and I started to live more consciously. I am pleased with everything. Thank you. I always look forward to doing yoga during a good weather in the summer outdoors. I hope I can come to Alanya and stay at the ashram there for a while. I am very happy to have met Yogibaba Adnan .
I began yoga 6 years ago with Mr. Çabuk at his ashram and I am still continuing the same way. I’ve become one with yoga coming to each class and practicing it at home, this way it has made a great positive impact on my life and my health. I’m more loving, patient and tolerant than I was before. I’ve overcome my serious sleeping disorder. My fears and worries have lessened and I can get through tough times easier. Right now life for me is more peaceful and cheerful and I feel very safe and secure. A couple of months ago I wanted to share this goodness and energy with others and again with the intensive course by my Mentor I achieved a teacher’s certificate and began the Yoga teaching. I’m grateful to my mentor who opened this path for me and gave me his light. I find the works at the ashram very appropriate, effective and right.
With love.
After I started yoga with Yogibaba Adnan, which was about 8 years ago, I became more aware of myself and everything around me. My tolerance rose. Up to the present I am continuing to do Yoga under my teacher’s supervision once a week as I’m striving for a purpose. Now, I like it more to help people. I’m healthier and I spare a couple of hours to myself everyday. I am also fortunate to be one of the chosen students of Yogibaba to be certified as a Yoga Teacher.
Yoga has brought a continuous inner peace, confidence and courage to my life. The consciousness at every second of my life has brought the will to live life to its fullest and to value each second. It has taught me to think and move with a higher conscious and to live unaffected by fears and worries. It made me feel every cell and organ of my body and to breathe correctly. For all of these I am grateful for Yogibaba’s guidance in pursuing my yoga practice. I too, am one of the students of Yogibaba Adnan who have earned his certificate to spread Yoga.
I first began yoga at 35, about 9 years ago, before then I was an unhappy person and depressed. All of these faded away with yoga. My creativity rose. The breathing exercises expanded my lungs and I felt happy. I felt powerful (both emotionally and physically). My communication with the people at work changed, they loved and respected me more. I realized how a smile can change things, make them easier. I learned to accept my husband and my environment as they were. I don’t get angry at traffic anymore. I feel peaceful and happy.
After I started yoga, I also started to realize my stressful moments and to calm myself faster. I learned to breathe better and increase my concentration. My awareness of the needs I have in other physical activities increased. I took big steps with yoga at listening to my inner voice. I realized what a completing feeling it was to feel in harmony with the universe and that I often forgot the beauty of it in daily life. Here, I’ve met people whom I feel I belong to and who give off the energy of always being with you.
